Toddler Teacher

As a Toddler Teacher at our center, you will play a vital role as a co-learner, observer, and guide, nurturing toddlers’ natural curiosity and supporting their social and emotional growth through individualized, hands-on learning experiences. Our approach respects each child’s personality and needs, fostering an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and safe to explore.
Key Responsibilities
- Child-Centered Learning: Observe and respond to each toddler’s interests, crafting engaging, hands-on learning experiences that stimulate curiosity and development.
- Classroom Environment: Design and maintain a warm, organized, and inviting environment where toddlers feel safe to explore and engage with the world around them.
- Collaboration: Partner with other teachers, staff, and parents to create a supportive, inclusive space that respects each child’s developmental needs and learning style.
- Physical Care and Safety: Supervise mealtimes, encouraging healthy habits, and assist with hygiene and diapering needs, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Documentation: Document each child’s progress through observations, photos, and notes, making each learning journey visible and sharing with parents.
- Routine Support: Implement and uphold routines to support toddlers’ comfort and security, recognizing each child’s unique pace and needs.
- Diverse Learning Support: While not a specialization, experience working with children with ADHD or mild autism is a valued skill, reflecting our commitment to supporting diverse learning needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- Experience working with toddlers in a Reggio-inspired or similar early childhood setting.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with ADHD and autism in young children is a plus, supporting our commitment to inclusive care.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to engage in activities with children, lift up to 50 lbs, and participate in floor-based play.
- Background checks and health screenings as required by state regulations.
