Staff Development

I understand that all early childhood care serving staff, meaning if you are applying and get hired for this position (DOES NOT APPLY TO AFTER SCHOOL TUTORS), you will be required to complete a total of twelve hours of professional development annually. Training sources may include: • Center Staff/Persons with relevant expertise; • College or University Courses/Professionals; • State, County, Community, or Professional Agencies; • Any relevant materials approved by the center, such as books, articles, podcasts, and webinars. Additionally, all staff that works with children under two and a half years of age, shall have training specific to this age group. Staff shall initiate the training within 90 days and complete it within one year. Training sources may include, but are not limited to: • The NJ Infant/Toddler credential • The Infant-Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) credential • Other trainings specifically related to the care of infants and toddlers It’s important to note that professional development records must be accurately maintained and include information on the training source, dates of training, and the number of clock hours for the event.
