Toddler Assistant Teacher

At GOMS, we aim to create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for toddlers, where they can grow and explore. We support children’s social, emotional, and physical development through a hands-on, playful learning approach.

We Are Looking For

A dedicated and caring Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our team. This individual will support our lead teachers and director, contributing to a warm and dynamic learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Children: Assist children with daily needs, including toilet training, ensuring safety, and addressing their social, emotional, and physical needs.
  • Assisting Teachers: Support lead teachers by preparing activities, managing diaper changes, overseeing feeding times, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Supporting Students: Guide students through activities, monitor their responses, and work with them individually or in small groups.
  • Creating a Safe Environment: Contribute to a caring and secure atmosphere, document observations, complete assessments, and checklists.
  • Additional Tasks: Prepare and serve meals, change diapers, write daily reports, record attendance, engage in play, assist with nap times, set out snacks, prepare craft materials, manage a daily schedule with structured activities and breaks, observe children for any concerns, and communicate effectively with parents and staff.

Requirements

  • CDA (Child Development Associate) Certificate as a minimum requirement.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for working with toddlers and a strong commitment to their development and well-being.
  • Previous experience in a daycare or early childhood education setting preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking is a plus).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, engage in physical play, and stand for extended periods.
  • Background checks and health screenings as required by state regulations.

Job Details

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.13 per hour
